Have you ever stopped and asked yourself, “What does fashion mean to me?” as a lot of my readers know, I believe fashion is the truest expression of ones self, something that can be viewed by everyone and no words needed. Sometimes I can see my mood thru pieces I pull in my closet, even before I know how I am feeling. I can’t say everyone feels the way I do or that what you wear is a reflection of how you feel, but I dare you to look at what pieces you are wearing and check in with yourself to see if your attire reflects your current mood.
I think fashion is a spiritual experience for me, something that allows me to be whatever and whoever I want to be at that moment. I am certain that is why I became a stylist. To create a story, a feeling, a vibe and that is what my good photographer friend Porter Counts and I envisioned with this story. I found the perfect brown oversized fuzzy Sandro coat which makes quite a statement and paired it with a Sandro navy & marigold leopard print dress. We scouted and found a location that could speak to that feeling, the colors, and the season.
So have you asked yourself yet? What does fashion mean to you? What does fashion do for you? Is it something that gives you anxiety? Or something that feeds your soul? I would have to say fashion is a way of life to me, its a chance at a new beginning, its a chance to recreate my story, and if I don’t like it I can try again the next day.
