This weekend I had the pleasure of working with my husband on a video/photo project for a few good friends of ours. It really got me thinking about the past 14 years of my styling career. Being on set, pulling clothes, the cups and cups of coffee and working with some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. There is nothing quite like working with an incredible client or creative director and sparks are literally flying. You are creating this piece of art with a group of humans that are so talented in their own right. Make-up artist that brings an editorial to life, photog’s that see things from a different perspective, hair that changes a look and styling that tells a story and a brilliant creative director that knows how to orchestra all the pieces together in this beautiful symphony. I am glowing just thinking about it, seriously a grin that hurts your cheeks.

There is proof of knowing when you’ve found what you are meant to do, when you don’t have to think, you don’t have to try, but instead you are 100% in your element. It almost feels unreal, something inside you takes over and well, it’s magically. I am so lucky to have known a passion like that.

Its been 3 months since I have been living in my new house in Texas. Its gone by so fast yet so slow. Being on location this past weekend and working with some crazy talented people made me jump right back into my old groove as if I had never left. I guess its like riding a bike, once you learn you never forget.

I’m not ready to jump back into styling 100% right now and I am not sure I ever will. I did it for so long and really got burnt out, just like with any job you have your highs and your lows. I am focusing in a new direction but in the same vein and I am excited to see where it takes me.

This is what I wore on set the past weekend, it was perfect for shooting in 90 degree weather. Shop my look below:
