One of the things I love the most about Los Angeles is all of the hidden treasures in the city, even on the outskirts of town. The STAUD showroom and design house has become one of those newly discovered treasures. Sarah Staudinger and George Augusto founded STAUD in downtown Los Angeles in 2015 when Sarah left Reformation to pursue her own line as a designer. The brand is centered on a made-to-order business tailored to their customers through ecommerce, editorial content and collections made in the heart and soul of Los Angeles per order to curate the perfect product.
Walking into the STAUD was a sweet escape from the industrial influences of Los Angeles. I was instantly inspired by the beautifully lit open space that was still a cozy sanctuary from the busy bustling streets of downtown. I looked around and soaked in the warm fall colors: navy, camel and olive hues, contemporarily designed with a vintage inspired appeal. The space transported me back to the 70’s: shag carpet, oversized lounge chairs and an earthy ambiance that was a breath of fresh air! Every hidden treasure has a guardian, even the at STAUD. While I visited I even got a sneak peak at their new collection that will be debuting soon, and it’s definitely a must-see that everybody needs to be excited about!
